C is sort of an old language, created in the 1970s by some dudes. It is still very relevant. Linux kernel is still written in C. C++ is based on C but is not C and that one is still super relevant. C is simple. It is the third in a series of languages made at Bell Labs, it came after B, because they liked the alphabet or something. And yes, there is a D language. C was super popular in the 90s and such. C is weird at times. But we will get there. Also Dennis Ritchie has a very cool beard.
